A CUB CRIME

Once again the Northsiders are in as much trouble as their ex-guv Mr. Blogoyoubitch. I know, Rod was the people's Churice, but everyone who has lived in Illinois knows that Chi-Town rules all the prairie state. In politics and in baseball.

Once again they are singing their tired old song, "Wait Til Next Year" as they somehow try to control pitcher Zambrano and unload salary that rivals the best teams in baseball, the Yanks, Red Sox and Dodgers. But just when is enough?

LeBron bolted Cleveland yesterday and at least they were close to playing in a championship. The Cubs, well not in my not-so-spring-chicken life unless you count Durham's error and the Bartman games, but still they would have found a way to lose, because well they are the Cubs.

I know good people who are Cub fans. This is my final call to them to please abandon that sinking franchise. Latch on to another. Any other. It's just criminal to root for some team who doesn't deserve your loyalty.

I'm, serious. I'd contract them and blow up Wrigley. Who needs another reminder of futility?
