SO WHAT HAVE I BEEN DOIN'?
That would be so important that I couldn't write any blog entries? Well, as you may have guessed, I've been traveling on a birthday cruise. Good friend Ron Krueger and I share the same b'day, same year. If we don't get together, which we usually don't, we talk on the phone. With a 3 hour time difference, he in North Carolina, sometimes we talk at odd hours for one of us.
Anyway(s), this year we decided to cruise the Northeast and Nova Scotia since neither of us had spent much time there. Oh yeah, our wives came, too, they being good friends since their late teen years.
We're winding down our cruise with an at-sea today from Boston to Baltimore, the latter being where our trip began 10 days ago.
So what's been cool besides sharing old times? Well, for one thing ship entertainment. Last night The Happenings put on a great show. "See You in September" was a huge hit in the 60's, and that was their baby. I still remember having their album. Also Bobby Arvon performed a few nights ago. He of "Happy Days" fame. His show was even better. But before you think we're do-woppin', we also have heard two funny comedians and gone to the shows featuring the ship's singers and dancers. Ok, maybe we are do-woppin' a little.
So other stuff we've enjoyed besides the great lobster and cruise ship food along with local eatery specialties are Camden Yards--simply the best of the major league parks; talking briefly with catcher friend J. R. House; seeing Bush Complex in Kennebunk Port; Acadia National Park at Bar Harbor; Halifax, Nova Scotia; Plimoth colony; Plymouth Rock and Mayflower II, and back to Baltimore for a city tour before our four hour flight home.
So what's been the funnest thing? According to Mrs. CQ, the relaxation that cruising brings. No cooking, no cleaning, no worries. We can't wait to go again.
