HOORAY FOR THE RED WHITE AND BLUE OR HAPPY SUMMER HOLIDAY
What is there exactly not to like about Independence Day?  I'm starting to appreciate that term more and more.  Yet there's nothing wrong with the Fourth of July.

A celebration of the beginnings of our country.  Against all odds.  We all know the story.  Yet we need reminders.  Often times.  I'm afraid most of those who lead our nation today are some that need the reminders the most.

But this holiday can and for the most part is celebrated for cookouts, swimming, picnics, ballgames, and of course the obligatory fireworks.  Fun and food.  And family and friends.

It can be a time of reflection, too.  For our country's roots, for parades and patriotism.  Think back this long holiday weekend of past Fourths.  Delve deeply into those thoughts, but not for too long.  Because celebrations are gone all too fast.

But the good ones last and last.  Kinda like the good ol' USA
